A classic woolen English suit with sharp, roped shoulders is reimagined with a Mandarin collar and a Tang-inspired silhouette. Gold, a color symbolizing auspiciousness in Chinese culture, takes center stage in decorative accents and languid bamboo suits. Meanwhile, a stand-collar jacket boasts full sleeves reminiscent of the roomy sleeves on a paofu.

“I’ve always believed that English artists produced some of their best work by looking Eastward, from Thomas Chippendale's fretwork to the iconic willow pattern on English crockery. In this collection, I'm extending the interpretation of an oriental sensibility beyond the visual realm by incorporating the concept of qi into clothing, ensuring that each garment enhances the flow of energy rather than restricting it.”

The collection was photographed against a hand-embroidered silk wallpaper from Fromental, featuring a scene of bamboo and wildlife in cinnabar red.
