Our flagship product: the Meridian Suit
The Meridian Suit, which was named as a counterpoint to the boreocentric suit, is our take on a set of stand collar coordinates. We wanted to create something that could convey the same seriousness and refinement as a traditional suit without the corporate or gentlemanly connotations.
In designing our alternative to the suit, we tried to reconcile two seemingly disparate ideals—comfort and formality. Below, we detail the elements that make up our flagship product:
Ogee-shaped stand collar
We knew we wanted something sinuous and elegant, and so we shaped our collar into an inverted ogee whose curves are mirrored at the top of the placket. The result is an undulating line that rounds the top button and dissolves into the collar.
Side slits
Side slits allow trouser pocket access when wearing the jacket buttoned-up while also preventing the jacket from bunching up when sitting down.
Semi-elasticated waistband
An elasticated waistband in the back for comfort and a plain waistband in front for a neater and more elegant finish.
Bagged cuffs
Bagged cuffs create density at the bottom of the trouser that stabilizes the drape of the fabric. They also have the added benefit of rounding out the shape of the pant leg so that the silhouette is consistent from every angle.
Zippered fly
We opted for the convenience of a zippered fly and use antique brass Riri zippers from Switzerland, which are regarded as the best zippers in the world due to their strength and smooth glide.
Internal button
A secondary fastening in the form of an internal horn button to ensure they’re doubly secure.
Natural labels
To complement our natural fabrics and trims, we use 100% natural labels — cotton, in this case — to ensure maximal comfort against skin.
Everything is locally sourced, and every aspect of our process, from design to patterns to sampling and production, takes place in London.
