Our first collection, which marks the debut of the Meridian Suit, is less an offering than an exploration—an inquiry into the tension between what we inherit and what we create. Tropical modernism, once preoccupied with order and control, found itself reshaped by the unfamiliar climates it sought to govern. In this shifting landscape, something new took form: not entirely international, not wholly local, but something in between, something that refuses easy definition.
Six jackets, six pairs of trousers. They are meant to be worn as full suits or effortlessly separated, but that’s secondary. What truly matters is the fabric—rumpled Irish linen, soft Italian denim, hand-loomed Madras cotton from India. These materials carry the weight of their origins, but do not rest there. They resist being tied to a place or time, much like the existential idea that existence precedes essence. These pieces exist first on their own terms, unbound by expectation.
To wear them is not to find belonging, but to contemplate it. Belonging, as we all know, is never a fixed point. It is a negotiation—a process, an abstraction that comes and goes, offering glimpses of where you’ve been and where you might yet go.
